The Imbalance of Hallways – Feng Shui

Your hallway shouldn’t feel like a dungeon

A long and narrow hallway can feel dreary, because there are two extremes at play here:

  • One is the length, this is an excess.
  • The other one is the narrowness, this is a deficiency.

In Feng Shui we seek to balance excesses and deficiencies. Last week I shared with you the best images to place at the end of the hallway. You can see these images here.

Today, I want to share with you the best images to place on the sides of hallways, to make it seem like the hallway is wider. Placing images that have long distance perspective on the side walls of a hallway reduces the feeling of deficiency due to the narrowness.

Images to Widen Hallways

This is my favorite image to widen hallways. I created it for this purpose. I love it because it also is really good at bringing in light to a dark hallway.

An image with long distance perspective can save a hallway from dreariness, adding depth and the feeling of continuing space. See below more images that can be used for this purpose, or click here:

Unless you are working with me or another Nine Steps to Feng Shui® Consultant, get one of the images below for the walls on the sides of your hallways. (If you try to choose an image on your own you may end up messing up another aspect of Feng Shui.) Click on any image below to go to the store:
