Three Levels and Nine Steps to Feng Shui – The Feng Shui Focus – Episode 1

When I first discovered Feng Shui I fell in love with this art, but I also felt overwhelmed and confused.

To make sense of all the information I came across, I started making charts on a notepad.

I put together nine major things that needed to be done in a home for good Feng Shui, and I separated them into sets of three. One set for the architecture, one set for the interior design and one set for the furniture.

What I Didn’t Know

What I didn’t know at the time was that the motif of “nine steps” was used repeatedly in ancient Chinese architecture and in sacred ceremonies to connect Heaven and Earth – to bring Heaven to Earth.

I didn’t know, at the time, that Feng Shui acts over three levels of realityHeaven, Earth and Humankind.

Heaven is related to thoughts, humankind to emotions and earth to physical action.

Unknowingly, I had tapped into knowledge from ancient Chinese philosophy by coming up with 9 steps, separated into three groups.

In the next few weeks I’ll be explaining more about all of this, but for now, all I want you to remember is that there are three levels of existence, what they are and what they mean for you, as a person, and for the home. Watch the video to learn (or read the transcript below.)

Three Levels and Nine Steps to Feng Shui

VIDEO 1 TRANSCRIPT:

At Feng Shui for Us™, we use the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System.

The Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System is a method to learn and practice Feng Shui that always works to create Dream Homes and Happy Lives.

We organize nine principles of natural laws in relationship to the numbers they symbolize, and we correlate them with nine things to do in the home, which are The Nine Steps to Feng Shui®.

We separate these nine steps into groups of three to associate them to what in ancient Chinese philosophy are called the Three Levels of Reality, which are Heaven, Earth, and Humankind.

Heaven is associated with Thoughts, Earth with Actions, and Humankind with Emotions.

We do three things for the Earth level of existence, that has to do with Architecture.

There are another three things we do for the Humankind level of existence, that has to do with Interior Design.

And we have another three steps that correlate with the Heaven level of existence, associated to Furniture.

3 Comments:

  1. My first exposure to Feng Shui was an introductory talk that you presented in Davenport , IA.

  2. What was your introduction to Feng Shui? A friend told me about it. I attended a class and didn’t stop taking classes for 3 years…lol. I learned directly from teachers. I did not read books about it until I could not attend classes anymore. Since then I have read a number of books, but prefer to learn from teachers.
