Three Levels of Existence – Heaven, Earth and Humankind
According to ancient Chinese philosophy there are three levels of existence Heaven, Humankind and Earth.
- Heaven is the level of thoughts, ideas, imagination, inspiration.
- Humankind is the emotional level.
- Earth is the level of action in the physical realm.
Humans connect Heaven and Earth by getting inspired ideas from Heaven, getting motivated via their emotions, to take the right actions in the physical plane.
That is how you create Heaven on Earth.

Humans Are the Connectors of Heaven and Earth
This video is part of the series The Feng Shui Focus – How You Fit, Function and Flourish in Your Space
After Creation started, there was a Heaven and there was an Earth.
Heaven is related to imaginations, Earth to Actions, and Humankind to Emotions, and humans are supposed to be the connectors of Heaven and Earth.
In ancient Chinese philosophy, which gave rise to Feng Shui, there are three levels of existence or three planes of existence: there’s Heaven, Earth and Humankind.
Heaven is associated to ideas, thoughts and imaginations, so it’s more of the realm of the mind.
Earth is associated with the physical, but not just the physical world but actually action in the physical world.
Humankind is associated with emotions. So humans are the connectors of heaven and earth, and the way we connect Thoughts and Actions is through emotions. Emotions are our motivation.

Hello Moni,
Yes I have often felt like my head and heart are at odds, for example my new home is not exactly what I wanted, my head says I should be happy with it but my heart wants it to be better than it is.
My internal emotions are sometimes swirling around and I am often trying to make things better.
My actions have been to implement Feng Shui cures and placing them in the correct areas, and I plan to keep doing this until I have it right.
Hi Debra,
It’s good you’re using your emotions to take action. Here’s one trick to know if the Feng Shui actions you’re taking are the right actions: you should see a sign of improvement within 3 days. Not a huge change, but a small sign that gives you hope or gives you a bit of happiness. Also, are you addressing architectural problems first?
