People often tell me that they have “Feng-Shuied their whole home.”
What they mean is that they have placed a cure, or enhancement, for each of the nine life areas according to the bagua map.
That’s NOT What Feng-Shuing Your Home Means
But that’s not what Feng-Shuing your home means.
Applying cures or enhancements for the bagua map around your home is step 8 in the Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System.
Before you get to that, there are another 7 things that have to be in place.
Enhancing the life areas is step 8 in the system, and a very important step. However, it is a very small part of Feng Shui, and there are seven more important things to do before you even get to that.

The Nine Steps Matter More than the Nine Life Areas
By following the nine steps you create an environment where all the life areas can thrive.
Let me give you some examples:
Completing the floor plan (step 1) has a greater effect on money and wealth than placing cures for money or wealth in the home.
Balancing extremes (step 2) will be more conducive to happy relationships than putting the perfect cure for love in the right, back corner of the home.
Controlling the flow of chi (step 3) is more effective in creating the stage for great health than placing a cure or enhancement in the health, family and community midpoint of the home.
It’s Not Your Fault
It’s not your fault if you believed that to completely Feng Shui your home all you had to was place enhancements for the life areas. Many people believe and teach just that.
So many people have been taught that to Feng Shui their home all they have to do is place cures for the life areas in the right spots, but this information is imparted by consultants and teachers who don’t have a global understanding of Feng Shui.
Life Area cures only work when larger problems have been fixed, such as completing the floor plan, balancing extremes, and adjusting chi flow.
If you only focus on the life areas, results are temporary, not permanent.
You’ve Done Nothing Wrong
If you have placed cures or enhancements for all the life areas in your home good for you!
