Your Home Is About You — Feng Shui Focus Episode 31

You know that Feng Shui is the ancient East Asian Art of space arrangement. But, do you know that the object of Feng Shui is not the space, but you?

Your home is about you. Everything that you believe to be true about life is expressed in your home. Every single object in your home is there because someone decided to put it there, either you or someone else in your home.

In the best of cases, if you put an object on a particular spot, it’s because you thought it would look good there or be useful. If someone else put it there, and you didn’t change at, it means you agreed with that decision.

However, some objects end up on a certain spot because you didn’t know what to do with them. You were walking around with something in your hands, and you just decided to drop it. Other times, objects end up in a garage or guest room because that has become the default place where you put things you don’t know what to do with. That’s how junk rooms are created.

You Can Steer Your Own Life

Life doesn’t have to happen to you, without your input or agreement. You can be the co-writer of the script of your life. You can hold the wheel of your own destiny.

A home that has, until now, confused you or made you to feel overwhelm, can become your ally.

The Nine Steps to Feng Shui® System tells you where to start and then guides you along a journey of discovery. In this journey you uncover the beauty that was hidden in your home to make room for beauty in your life.

Three Concepts for Each Level of Reality

At the beginning of this series I introduced you to nine concepts of Ancient East Asian Philosophy that explain how reality works.

Of those nine concepts, three (tao, yin and yang and chi) are associated with the Earth level of reality. These are the problems in your home that are caused by the architecture of the place — the way it was built. These problems would be the same for any people living in the same home. The shape of the floor plan, the location of staircases and the length of hallways are issued that cannot be changed without remodeling, but they may be corrected energetically with the use of Feng Shui.

Three concepts (rhythm, five elements and the six true words) have to do with the Humankind level of reality. The Feng Shui problems related to these concepts have to do with major decisions that have been made regarding the colors and textures of the large surfaces on your home, such as floors, walls and ceilings. The items you place on walls and around windows are also part of this level of existence — art, photos, mirrors, curtains and blinds.

The last three concepts (7 chakras, 8 trigrams and the magic square) belong with the Heaven level of reality. The Feng Shui problems in this level of existence are connected to things in your home that are easily movable and changeable, such as furniture, decorations and accessories.
