This Happens to You When Your Home Has Sharp Corners

When two walls in your home meet at 90 degrees or less, they form a sharp corner.

In most modern homes that were built with wooden frames, these corners conceal, under the paint, sharp metal pieces.

I met a family who’d had particular bad luck with such corners. One woman broke her toe from accidentally hitting it as she was running around a corner in her hallway. Her 12 year old nephew split his forehead vertically from running directly into one.

Although such accidents are rare, sharp corners pose a potential physical danger, and they also create energetic problems.

Chi, the life force energy, travels alongside walls. When the chi traveling from two walls meets at 90 degree angles (or less) there is energetic turbulence. It’s similar to what happens when two streams or rivers meet in nature to create a larger body of water — there’s turbulence for a while. This turbulence ends up affecting the human energy field (also known as aura) in the people who live in that space. People who are exposed to this type of chi turbulence regularly report feeling fatigued.

The Traditional Cure for Sharp Corners

The traditional Feng Shui cure for this problem is to place a tall plant in front of the corner to cover it up. This is an excellent solution.

However, in some cases there simply isn’t enough room to fit a tall plant. In other cases, there isn’t enough natural light to sustain the life of a plant. In such cases, Feng Shui consultants use others solutions, which may include wooden molding, crystals, essential oils and wall paper strips to fix the physical and energetic issues of sharp corners.
