In the West, we use plants for decoration and for air purification.
You place beautiful plants to increase the beauty in your home.
Plants Clean the Air You Breathe
And lately, there is a lot of talk about plants that clean the air, like the areca palm, the snake plant, the peace lily, that they don’t just take carbon dioxide out of the air, but they also take out formaldehydes and other chemicals that can be harmful to people.
So, we use plants as filters for the air, and we also use them for decoration.
The Feng Shui meaning of plants goes a little bit deeper.
In Feng Shui, we use plants to bring nature inside the home.
Human Beings Thrive in Nature
One of the worst things that is happening to people today is that we are disconnected from nature. Human beings were designed to thrive in natural spaces and to actually be outside for most of the day.
You Need to Bring Nature into Your Home
But who even spends more than an hour a day outside today, right? So, you have to bring plants into your home so that you can bring a little bit of nature into your home.
Choose Your Plants Carefully
You have to choose those plants carefully. The size, the type, the colors, even the shape of the leaves have to be taken into consideration when you choose a plant.
And that may vary from room to room.
Don’t Just Survive…THRIVE!
One of the things that you need to do for yourself is in your home have enough representations of thriving nature that it gives you a sense that you cannot just survive but also thrive.
Everything You Believe to Be True About Life is Expressed in Your Home
You affect your home and your home, in turn, has an effect on you. You establish a close relationship with your place.
