In English, wealth is defined as “an abundance of valuable possessions or money.”
But when I ask people what money means to them, I often get evasive answers that boil down to two common responses:
✨ “My loved ones are my wealth,” or
🙏 “God is my wealth.”
These are beautiful sentiments — but in Feng Shui, wealth has a specific meaning that is distinct from money, spirituality, or relationships.
In true Feng Shui, wealth is not about how much you own or how much money you have. Money can feed your wealth, but money itself is not wealth.
Wealth is about your survival potential — for:
🧍 yourself
👨👩👧👦 your family
🌱 and future generations.
What Wealth Really Is
If you look at the Wealth, Prosperity, and Self-Worth life area — through the lens of ancient Chinese knowledge, you’ll discover that wealth is about accumulation.
But not just of things. Feng Shui recognizes three forms of accumulation that together make up real wealth:
💰 Material Property
📚 Skills & Knowledge (mental and physical)
🤝 Connections
Let’s break them down:
💰 Material Property
This includes investments, real estate, valuable objects, tools, and resources that support your well-being and growth.
📚 Skills and Knowledge
Your education, your trade, your talents, your ability to solve problems — these are all forms of wealth that no one can take away from you.
🤝 Connections
Your social network, family ties, community support, and professional relationships all contribute to your wealth. These are what help you move forward, bounce back from adversity, and thrive.
Wealth Looks Different for Everyone
The same amount of wealth might be plenty for one person — and not nearly enough for another. It depends on the kind of life you want to live.
There’s no universal standard for what “enough” looks like.
What feels like abundance to one person might feel like scarcity to another. That’s because true wealth is personal — it depends on your values, your lifestyle, your goals, and even your energy levels. Learn how to customize Feng Shui cures to promote wealth in your home here.
Not Everyone Dreams of the Same Lifestyle
Some people dream of a high-rise condo with sweeping city views and weekends filled with restaurants, events, and travel. Others feel wealthy when they have a garden to tend, a quiet space to read, and the freedom to set their own schedule.
The amount of money or stuff is not what determines whether someone is wealthy in Feng Shui — it’s about whether their resources support the life they want to live.
For example, a person might own a large house, drive a luxury car, and take lavish vacations — but if they’re always stressed about money, trapped in a job they hate, and barely home to enjoy what they’ve built, that’s not real wealth.
Meanwhile, someone else might live in a modest home with a small but beautiful backyard, work a flexible job they love, time to be creative, and spend unhurried evenings with family — and feel truly rich.
How About You?
As you can see, wealth isn’t measured in square footage or designer labels — it’s measured in your ability to live a meaningful, joyful life on your terms.
And it’s OK if your version of wealth doesn’t match what others expect.
Your home should reflect your values, not just your income. The way you arrange your space, the objects you choose to keep, and even how you manage your time — all these things contribute to how supported (or drained) you feel every day.
So ask yourself:
What truly matters to you?
What makes your life richer — not in dollars, but in meaning?
https://feng-shui-for-us.teachable.com/p/feng-shui-cures-for-health-and-wealth1The answers to those questions are the foundation for building true wealth — the kind that money alone can’t buy.
Also think about this:
What things have you convinced yourself you should want, just because society or television tells you that’s what success looks like?
Feng Shui is about making room for what you love, so you can:
🏡 enjoy life on your terms
🎨 live your passions
🌟 fulfill your life mission
— all in a state of health, joy, and even bliss.
In Feng Shui, every action you take for wealth must also support your health. There’s no way around it — true abundance can’t exist without well-being.
