I studied architecture, graphic design, and art. By the time I graduated, I knew how to draw buildings, create beautiful compositions, and understand color and proportion.
Then it was time to decorate my first home.
To my surprise, I had no idea what I was doing.
I made mistake after mistake. I bought things I loved that didn’t work together. I tried decorating by instinct. I looked at magazines for inspiration. Sometimes a room looked wonderful in my imagination but felt uncomfortable once everything was in place.
I ended up spending more money trying to decorate my own home, than if I had hired a seasoned interior designer to do it for me.
It was frustrating because I had spent years studying design, yet no one had taught me why certain spaces feel harmonious while others never quite come together.
Everything changed when I discovered Feng Shui.
The Missing Piece Wasn’t Creativity
Like many people, I assumed that great interior designers had a special gift.
I believed they could walk into a room and somehow just know exactly which painting belonged on a wall, what color should be used, or where furniture should be placed.
But that’s not how it works.
The most successful designers aren’t relying on magic, intuition, or inspiration alone. Whether they realize it or not, they are creating spaces that reflect the principles of harmony found in nature.
That is what Feng Shui taught me. Today, it may seem as though I can walk into a room and instantly know what it needs. But that’s not because I have a special gift or some extraordinary intuition. It’s because I understand the principles of Feng Shui.
Not just any version of Feng Shui, but a system rooted in the same ancient East Asian principles that have guided healing practices such as acupuncture, QiGong, herbal medicine, and therapeutic massage for thousands of years. Once you understand those principles, you begin to recognize the patterns that create harmony in a space—just as a trained practitioner recognizes the patterns that support health in the human body.

Why Some Rooms Feel So Good
Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt yourself relax?
Or visited a home that wasn’t especially expensive or luxurious, yet it felt welcoming and peaceful?
Then you’ve probably experienced good Feng Shui.
Things don’t look beautiful simply because someone declares them to be “good design.” We recognize beauty because we instinctively respond to environments that reflect the harmony of the natural world.
For thousands of years, Feng Shui masters observed how people reacted to different environments. They discovered patterns that consistently made people feel safer, calmer, more energized, more connected, or more at ease.
Those observations became the principles of Feng Shui.
When a room reflects those principles, it doesn’t just look beautiful.
It feels right.
Decorating Doesn’t Have to Be Guesswork
One of the biggest misconceptions about decorating is that you either have “an eye for design” or you don’t.
I don’t believe that’s true.
Learning to create beautiful spaces is much like learning music, cooking, or gardening. At first it may seem mysterious, but once you understand the underlying principles, everything begins to make sense.
Instead of wondering whether something “looks right,” you understand why it works.
Instead of copying trends, you make choices that create lasting harmony.
Instead of decorating through trial and error, you decorate with confidence.
What About AI?

Today, artificial intelligence is becoming an incredible decorating tool.
You can upload a photo of your room and instantly see what different paint colors would look like. You can visualize new furniture, artwork, flooring, or lighting before spending a dollar.
I think that’s wonderful.
But AI has one important limitation.
It can show you what a room will look like.
It cannot tell you what the room will feel like once you begin living in it.
🏠 Will you feel supported while working?
🏠 Will conversations naturally flow?
🏠 Will the room encourage rest, creativity, focus, or connection?
Those are questions about human experience, not just appearance.
That is where Feng Shui becomes invaluable.
Built upon thousands of years of observation and refined through generations of experience, Feng Shui helps predict how a space is likely to affect the people who live there.
Together, AI and Feng Shui make a remarkable combination. AI helps you visualize possibilities. Feng Shui helps you choose the ones most likely to support your well-being.
The Best Part Is That Anyone Can Learn It
🌸 You don’t need to be an architect.
🌸 You don’t need to be an artist.
🌸 You don’t need decades of experience decorating homes.
And you certainly don’t need a special gift.
What you need is a framework that explains why certain design choices create harmony while others create tension.
Once you understand those principles, decorating becomes far less intimidating.
You’ll make fewer costly mistakes.
You’ll feel more confident in your decisions.
And you’ll begin creating spaces that are not only beautiful but that genuinely support the life you want to live.
